Chesapeake volunteers receive awards, recognition
Volunteers making a difference in the lives of others and in our communities were honored at the 2009 Chesapeake Neighborhood Conference awards and recognition luncheon held at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Award recipients this year were Dewayne Alford; George Garnett; Rev. Jon Hildebrand; Reverend Jake Manley, Sr.; Serve the City Chesapeake, and Kenneth Martin, Coordinator/President of the South Norfolk Neighborhood Watch.
School board member Brenda Johnson congratulated Kenny Martin on receiving one of this year's Volunteer Awards. Joining him was fellow South Norfolk Neighborhood Watch member, Jarrett Hamm, who is Vice President.
